Recently English church ministers banned Yoga after saying that the meditative exercise is a sham and not compatible with Christianity. But this doesn’t bother some New Yorkers who are practicing facial yoga to achieve a youthful appearance. The writer of the book called The Yoga Face: Eliminate Wrinkles with the Ultimate Natural Facelift, Annelise Hagen, a yoga instructor in Manhattan’s wealthy Upper East Side teaches several facial exercises designed to stretch and tone facial muscles. Telling the advantages of Yoga, She said,

Facial muscles become weak and flabby and need regular workouts and circulation to reduce wrinkles. You can do this any time.

The small exercise “The Lion” in which you have to the hang out your tongue and eyes should be rolled up will encourage blood circulation in your skin and reduces wrinkles.

The other exercises include “Satchmo,” in which the cheeks are blown out Louis Armstrong-style, and “Marilyn,” in which glamorous kisses are blown to strengthen mouth muscles for full and firm lips.

It uses the same principles of exercise you would use for any other parts of your body. Facial muscles also become more toned, so it is a natural way of getting a lift.

Pure gold can also be allergic http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/pure-gold-can-also-be-allergic/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/pure-gold-can-also-be-allergic/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/pure-gold-can-also-be-allergic/#comments Anupam jewellery_64Glittering gold that you often use to add to your beauty may add to your problems too because according to the latest findings by researchers, pure gold can produce allergy symptoms in some people. It is worth mentioning that this finding stands head to head to the previous beliefs, which have dubbed pure gold as a non-allergic substance.

There is a common notion that skin allergy, which usually erupts after wearing gold jewellery is due to alloys like nickel or chromium. However, after carrying out survey of 30 dermatological clinics and hospitals throughout Germany Thomas Fuchs and Johannes Geier of Goettingen University Hospital in Germany came to the conclusion that pure gold can also bring out its allergic properties on some people.

On the basis of this study it can definitely be asserted that pure gold can also be an allergic metal. In the words of Thomas Fuchs:

These are indeed isolated cases... But they are enough to prove conclusively that there is such a thing as an allergy to gold.

Long drives may put you in the lane that leads to skin cancer. Yes, this is true. Actually, once again it has been found that left body part of those who go for long drives is more susceptible to skin cancer, for this part of the body is comparatively more exposed to scorching sun rays during long drives.

Here word ‘once again’ has been used intentionally because previous studies have also proved that left body part of those who drives on long routes is more susceptible to skin cancer due to more exposure to UV rays of the Sun.

Interestingly, our skin becomes more susceptible to skin cancer not only while we drive on long routes but also when we get exposed to UV rays through other ways. For instance, marathon running has also been linked to skin cancer, for during long hours of running our skin is quite liberally get exposed to skin cancer, increasing the susceptibility to skin cancer.

Research shows that peach not only softens the skin, but is also reponsible for hydrating the skin along with imparting the skin a rich glow. Therefore, the antioxidant and minearl-rich peach is used for topical treatments of problem skin.

The following homemade face pack can be considered for moisturising and toning the skin:

Spearmint tea: Perfect solution to get rid of excess body hair http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/spearmint-tea-perfect-solution-to-get-rid-of-excess-body-hair/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/spearmint-tea-perfect-solution-to-get-rid-of-excess-body-hair/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/spearmint-tea-perfect-solution-to-get-rid-of-excess-body-hair/#comments Anupam spearmint-tea_64Women fed up by using hair-removing solutions, painful waxing procedures now may have a sigh of relief because just having a few mugs of spearmint tea has been found helpful in treating women with an unsightly condition that causes excess hair growth on their face, breasts and stomach.

Turkish reports hurled this notion after studying the impact of spearmint tea drinking on 21 women for five days. Commonly excess facial and body hair growth problems occurs in women due to higher level of testosterone hormone and spearmint tea combats this unwanted condition, also known as hirsutism by bring down the level of testosterone hormone. Justifying spearmint tea’s efficacy researchers concluded:

Spearmint can be an alternative to antiandrogenic treatment for mild hirsutism. However, further studies are needed for testing the reliability and availability of spearmint as a drug for hirsutism.

Normally, oral contraceptives and other drug treatments are used to treat women suffering from such condition. However, this new way to treating hirsutism is quite natural, which I believe would be adopted by most of the women facing such situation. It is worth mentioning that spearmint is already well known due to its medicinal properties and normally used for treating indigestion, nausea, vomiting, common cold, cough, sinusitis, fever and bronchitis and now it would be known for treating hirsutism too.

Hair coloring giving rise to skin allergies http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/hair-coloring-giving-rise-to-allergy/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/hair-coloring-giving-rise-to-allergy/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/hair-coloring-giving-rise-to-allergy/#comments Anupam hair-colors_64
Despite rise in allergy cases there is a craze for hair coloring, British Medical Journal (BMJ) observes.

According to experts compound para-phenylenediamine, also called PPD and some other chemicals, which are found in hair coloring products, give rise to several kinds of skin allergies.

Previous studies have also dubbed para-phenylenediamine or PPD as an allergy-monger that causes eczema on the face or around the hairline. Besides, in some cases the reaction is so severe that the victim’s face swells up and causes painful bruising, needing hospital treatment.

Unfortunately, PPD allergy is restricted to not only countries like England, Germany, etc. but it has diffused in countries like Belgium, Portugal, Denmark, and Singapore as well. The severity of the problem can be assessed from the point according to which where a clinic in London reported to have just 5 to 11 patients every year in the period of 1965-75 with skin allergy, while now the figure tops the 40 mark quite easily. According to an estimate, such figures could be approaching the height of about 1.3 million in Germany alone.

Actually, people are adopting such life-threatening fashion trends just to keep pace with the modern lifestyle. However, declaring hair color utterly harmful would also not be right because where some studies have dubbed hair color harmful, at the same time we can’t keep back those studies which have dubbed hair colors quite safe.

Skin numbing creams may prove life threatening: FDA http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/skin-numbing-creams-may-prove-life-threatening-fda/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/skin-numbing-creams-may-prove-life-threatening-fda/ http://www.naturalskincareblog.com/entry/skin-numbing-creams-may-prove-life-threatening-fda/#comments Anupam skin-numbing-creams_64Skin numbing creams that are often used to soothe burning or itching skin as well as pain before, during and after various procedures, contain numbing drugs, including, lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine and prilocaine, may result in life-threatening consequences too. This warning by FDA is bound to confound you. Actually, FDA has come up with this warning after a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman who applied numbing creams after laser hair removal on their legs died.

Experts believe that such skin numbing creams may seep into bloodstreams, causing a threat to life. This study is really an eye-opener since it exposes how harmful such skin numbing creams could be.

Personally, I believe that some alternative of these skin numbing creams should be discovered, which are comparatively safer and carry no or minimal side effects. On this issue the following advice by FDA seems quite convincing, which states:

You should also discuss with your doctor whether there are other ways to reduce the pain you may feel during the procedure.
